Joe’s is the leader in carbon fiber frame and wheel repair. We are proud to offer the benefit of our 27 years’ experience with composites to the owners of all carbon bike frames. Many major carbon frame manufactures refer riders to us for their frame repairs and painting. We have been able to provide customers with an affordable alternative to frame replacement. From scratches, minor fractures, frames destroyed by a major crash, or even that unfortunate moment when you forgot the bike was on top of your car and entered the garage. Joe’s extensive experience with composite materials means we are able to repair nearly every frame, regardless of manufacturer. In addition to frames, carbon wheels can be repaired as long as the damage is not along the breaking surface of the rim. Here are a few links to check out.
Joe’s has been amazing customers since 1989 with basic paint work to elaborate unique custom designs. Our professional paint team has over 27 years of experience in custom frame painting. Joe’s painting does all work in-house in our state-of-the-art paint booth, complete with top of the line painting equipment, including a full line of airbrushing equipment for those unique personal touches. We guarantee your new custom painted bicycle frame will look as good ten years from now as it did on the day you received it. Paint can range from a simple clear coat to replicating the original design and details to an entirely new paint scheme.
Carbon Solutions proprietary clear coat additive can be mixed in with any color paint to form a super hard, protective layer leaving a chip and scratch resistant finish. If you’ve seen repaired carbon frames, you’ve probably seen our work.
We are an authorized painter for several manufactures including Specialized, Santa Cruz, Ibis, Argon 18, and more. This gives us the ability to paint your frame without voiding the warranty.
For a repaint, we have a couple of options with the prep before painting. Pricing includes scuffing the existing paint with sandpaper and using that as a base coat. The other option is to completely strip the old paint, inspect for stress fractures, primer, paint colors, paint decals (using reverse stencils which leaves a much better finish than vinyl) and apply clear. The final result is the same if we scuff or remove the paint. The difference is in weight, saving about 100-200 grams, and knowing the carbon is in good shape.
No matter if you are having a flame job overlaid on a carbon fiber bicycle frame or are restoring a classic beauty, when you have it painted by Joe’s you are assured the best possible results.
